英語絵本「The Apple Pie Tree」の読み聞かせです。
秋は実りの秋でもありますが、家の庭にリンゴの木があればより秋を感じられそうですね。
うちの田舎では秋になると柿の木がいっぱい実をつけていました。長くて先端の割けた棒きれを使って枝からひねり取るようにもぎ取っては食べていたのを思い出します。
今回のお話はそんな秋の実り、リンゴの木からアップルパイができるまでのお話し。
リンゴの木を通じて四季の移り変わりを感じれる絵本です。
短めの英文で単語もやさしく読みやすいお話しでした。

私の姉妹と私は、アップルパイで重要な要素を栽培する木を持っています。

And every year, we watch our apple tree grow.
そして毎年、私たちはリンゴの木が育つのを見ます。
In winter, our apple tree is brown and bare.
冬になると、リンゴの木は茶色で裸です。
But in spring,

leaves grow on every branch.
葉はあらゆる枝に育ちます。
Look two robins are building a nest in our tree.
ほら、2羽のコマドリは、我々の木で巣を作っています。
Tiny pink flower buds appear on the branches.

The robins chirp loudly, guarding their eggs.

Just when the flower buds open,

baby robins break through the eggshells.

Now our tree is covered with blossoms.

The branch has been down low.

They are covered with big round apples.

Now it is autumn.

The apples are red and ready to be picked !
リンゴは赤くて、摘まれる準備ができています！
We fill our basket to the brim.
我々は、バスケットをふちまで満たします。
Mom and Dad helped us peel the apples,
ママとパパはリンゴを剥くのを手伝ってくれました、
cut them up,

and pile them into a pie shell.

Then we sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top.
