英語絵本「Maisy Goes by Plane」の読み聞かせです。メイシーちゃんシリーズは日本でもおなじみですね。
メイシーは飛行機に乗ってエラのお家へお泊り旅行です。空港のロビーからゲート通って搭乗と、飛行機に乗る様子を楽しめる絵本です。空港や飛行機でもよく使われる英語が登場するので、海外旅行などの前に一連の行動をチェックしておくのも楽しくなりそうです。
When Maisy went to stay with Ella, she
went by plane.
メイシーがエラの所へお泊りに行くとき、彼女は飛行機で行きました。
Ella lived so far away!
エラはとても遠くに住んでいます！
Cyril drove Macey to the airport.
サイリルはメイシーを空港まで車に乗せました。
Maisy was very excited!
メイシーはとても興奮しました！
Macey was in plenty of time to catch her flight.
メイシーは彼女の飛行時間に間に合うのに十分な時間があった。
She showed her ticket and checked in her case.
彼女は自分の航空券を見せて彼女の荷物を預けた。
Then she said goodbye to Cyril ..
それから彼女はさよならをサイリルに言った。。
and went through security to the departure lounge.
そしてセキュリティーを抜け出発ロビーへ行った。
All of the passengers began to board the plane.
すべての乗客が飛行機に搭乗し始めました。
It was so exciting!
とてもエキサイティングでした！
Maisy looked through to where the captain sat.
メイジーは機長が座っていた場所を覗いた。
Wow, it took a lot of lights and buttons to make a plane go!
うわー、それは飛行機を飛ばすために多くのライトとボタンを必要としました！
Maisy eventually found her seat.
メイジーはついに彼女の席を見つけた。
“Row one, two, three, oh Here I am – row 10!”
「1列目、2列目、3列目、おお、ここです – 10列目！」
She had a window seat!
彼女は窓際の席だ！
Maisy quickly made new friends with Mr. Percy, who 目メイシーはすぐに通路のそばに座っていたパーシーさんと真ん中に座っていたベッツィさんと新しく友達になりました。
Mr. Percy pulled and Pulled to get his seat belt on and
all three friends helped each other with their belts.
パーシー氏はシートベルトを着用するために引っ張って引っ張った。3人の友人全員が彼らのベルトを互いに助け合った。

カチッカチッカチッ!
The stewardess then talked about safety.
それから客室乗務員は安全について話しました。
Betsy seemed a little nervous so Maisy held her hand as the plane whooshed down the runway!
ベッツィは少し緊張しているように見えたので、飛行機が滑走路を走るときにメイシーは手を握った。
Maisy felt the plane lift off.
マイジーは飛行機が飛び上がるのを感じた。
Up up and away!
上へ上へ そして離れる！
A steward brought Maisy a drink of orange juice.
乗務員はメイジーにオレンジジュースを運んだ。
Betsy read a magazine…
ベッツィは雑誌を読みます…
and Mr. Percy went to sleep.
パーシー氏は眠りについた。
But Maisy needed to go to the toilet…
しかしメイシーはトイレに行く必要がありました…
The plane soared on and on through the night sky, until a loud voice came through the speaker:
飛行機は夜空をかけぬけていきます。大きな声がスピーカーから聞こえるまで、
“Soon we will be landing!”
「間もなく着陸します」
Everyone had to return to their seats, put their seat backs up and the seat belts on.
誰もが彼らの席に戻り、彼らの席を元に戻し、そしてシートベルトを着用しなければならなかった。
Touchdown! The plane gave a little bump and a jamp as it landed.
着陸！飛行機は小さく揺れて着陸しました。
“Hooray!” Many passengers cheered and clapped and Maisy joined in.
「ばんざい！」多くの乗客が歓声を上げて拍手をし、メイシーも加わりました。
They had flown so far in just a few hours!
彼らはたった数時間で飛んできました！
Maisy thanked the crew and the captain as she got off the plane.
メイシーは飛行機から降りたときクルーと船長に感謝しました。
Maisy, Betsy and Mr. Percy waited together to collect their bags.
メイジー、ベッツィとパーシー氏は彼らのバッグを取るために一緒に待っていました。
Then there was Ella! “Hello, Ella!”
それから、エラがいました！ 「こんにちは、エラ！」
“Goodbye Mr. Percy and Betsy.”
「さようならパーシーとベッツィー」
what a fun flight it had been!
なんて楽しい飛行だったのでしょう。
