雪に覆われた森に暮らすリトルバニーと動物たちのクリスマスの物語。空からゆらゆらと降ってきた招待状を手にするリトルバニー。森の仲間からクリスマスパーティーへのお誘いでした。イエス様の誕生日であることを知ったリトルバニーはイエス様も自分たちと同じようにプレゼントが欲しいのかな？と考えます。イエス様はいったいどんなものを望んているのか..仲間のみんなに聞いて回ることにしました。

There’s a quiet flutter all through the air.
静かなゆらめきが空気中にあります。
Is it snowflakes? Is it rain?
それは、雪片ですか？ それは、雨ですか？
It’s an invitation!
それは、招待状です！
Is it a Christmas party?
それはクリスマスパーティーですか？
“It’s Jesu’s birthday, my little Bunny,” said Mama.
「イエス様の誕生日です、私の小さなバニーちゃん」とママは言った。
Little Bunny was soon snug in his bed.
リトルバニーは彼のベットですぐに心地よくなりました。
He dreamt about all the birthday toys and treats he wanted when it was his birthday.
彼の誕生日であった時にしてもらいたかったすべての誕生日のおもちゃや楽しみを彼は夢見ました。
The next day he came upon all the animals decorating the forest.
その翌日、彼は森を飾るすべての動物に出会いました。
He hopped here and he hopped there, asking all the other animals.
彼はこちらにピョン、あちらにピョンと飛びはね、他のすべての動物に尋ねた。
“Does Jesus want toys, like me?!”
「イエス様は私のようにおもちゃが欲しいのですか。」
“Does he want candy, like me?! Or games?” asked Little Bunny.
「彼は私のようにキャンディーが欲しいですか。それともゲーム？」リトルバーニーは尋ねた。
“No, no. None of those things.” answered the Hedgehog.
「いや、いや。それらのどれもない」 ハリネズミが答えた。
Little Bunny didn’t understand.
リトルバニーは理解できませんでした。
Bunny watched as his friends gathered together with their special presents all picked out.
彼の友達が彼らの特別な贈り物と一緒に集まっていたので、バニーは見ていました。
He looked around, and what did he see?

All his friends celebrating Jesus underneath the tree!

He wanted to join them, but he still didn’t know what gift to bring!

”But what does he want for his birthday?!”

Little Bunny insistant.

“Take a look over here, my friend.” said Badger.

Little Bunny looked closer at all the gifts and was surprised to see that they had words written on their tags.

“I know just what he’d like.

And I think I’d like it, too.” said Little Bunny, grabbing a box and a marker.
そしてわたしもまたそれが欲しいと思います。」箱と目印をつかみながらリトルバニーは言った。
“This is what I want to give Jesus for Christmas!
「これはクリスマスにイエスへ与えたい私の望みです！

愛
Do you think he’ll like it?”
彼はこれを気にいると思いますか？」
“Yes, Little Bunny.” said Mama.
「はい、リトルバニー」とママは言った。
“Love is the greatest gift that anyone can give on Christmas.
「愛は誰でもクリスマスに贈れる最高の贈り物です。
We love Jesus because he left us first.
私たちはイエスを愛しているのは、彼がまずそれを残してくださったから。
Love is the whole reason Jesus was born!”
イエス様が生まれたのは、愛だけが理由です。」
Little Bunny understood. Jesus’s birthday is about a love so great it overflows to everyone around you.
リトルバニーは理解した。 イエスの誕生日はそれがあなたの回りの誰にでもあふれるくらいすごい愛であることを。
His heart full, Little Bunny whispered,
彼の満たされた心 リトルバニーはささやいた
“Happy birthday, Jesus!”
