英語絵本「What will the Weather be like today?」の読み聞かせです。
will be like～は 「どうなるとおもう・・？」のような感じでしょうか。口語風にすると「今日のお天気はどうなるでしょうか？」といった風になると思います。
自然の中に暮らす動物たちによっては雨を喜んだり、晴れを喜んだり、中にはお天気なんて何？って動物たちもいるようです。
What will the weather be like today?
今日はどんな天気になるのでしょうか？
Just at the moment when night becomes day, when the stars in the sky begin fading away,
ちょうど夜が昼になる瞬間、空の星が消え始める頃。
you can hear all the birds and the animals say,
鳥や動物たちの声が聞こえてきます。
“What will the weather be like today?”
“今日の天気は？”
Will it be windy?
風は強いかな？
Will it be warm?
暖かくなるかな？
Will there be snow?
雪は降るのでしょうか？
Or a frost?
霜か？
Or a storm?
それとも嵐？
“Be dry,” says the Jizard, “and I won’t complain.”
“乾いていろ “と魔法使いは言う “文句は言わない”
The frog in the bog says,
沼地のカエルは言う
“Perhaps it will rain.”
“もしかしたら雨が降るかもしれない”
The white cockatoo likes it’s steamy and hot.
白いオカメインコは蒸し暑いのが好きだ。
The mole doesn’t know if it’s raining or not.
モグラは雨が降っているかどうかわからない。
“Whatever the weather, I work,” says the bee.
“天気がどうであれ、私は仕事をしている “とハチは言う。
“Wet,” says the duck, “is the weather for me.”
“濡れていてもいい “とアヒルは言う。”私にとっての天気は”
“Whether? What’s that?” say the fish in the sea.
「天候？それは何ですか」と海の魚は言う。
The world has awakened.
世界が目覚めた。
The day has begun,
その日が始まった。
and somewhere it’s cloudy,
そしてどこかで曇っています。
and somewhere there’s Sun,
そしてどこかで晴れています。
and somewhere the Sun and the rain meet to play,
そしてどこかで太陽と雨が出会って遊んでいます。
and paint a bright rainbow to dress up the day!
そして鮮やかな虹を描いて、その日の気分でドレスアップしましょう
