イソップ物語の英語アニメ、ピンキッツから「The Wolf and the Pipe」のお話です。子羊とオオカミの表情やアニメがとっても楽しめて、優しめの英語は小さいお子さんの英語リスニングにもちょうどな感じです。
オオカミに狙われた子羊は、最後にダンスをするから笛を吹いてとオオカミにお願いします。でも、実はこの笛は羊の群れを守る犬の笛だったんですねー。笛の音を聞いた犬はrushed over immediately（直ちに急行）してきました。bum（たかり）に狙われたら事前に準備しておいて知恵で切り抜けなさいということですね。
While a kid was grazing on grass one day, he became lost.
子ヤギがある日草の上で草を食べる間、彼は迷ってしまいました。
“Baa. baa. Friends! Friends! Where are you? baa.”
「メー・メー。友人！友人！どこにいます？メー」
Hearing this, a nearby wolf quickly ran to kid with his lip smacking.
これを聞いて、近くのオオカミは、唇を大きく鳴らし、子供に素早く駆け寄りました。
“Ha ha ha. now doesn’t he look tasty?”
「ハッハッハ、彼はおいしそうに見えない？」
The kid was so shocked and scared that he fell on his bum.
子ヤギはとても驚いて、彼のたかりに恐怖した。
“Just a second, Mr, Wolf. Befor you eat me, I have one wish.”
「少し待ってください、おおかみさん。わたしを食べる前に一つお願いがあります」
Said the kid to the very hungry and salivating wolf.
子ヤギはは非常に空腹で唾液を流すオオカミに言った。
“I would like to dance just one last time.”
「私は最後に1回だけ踊りたい。」
“If you could just play the pipe, then I can dance my last dance.”
「笛を弾いていただけるなら、私は最後のダンスを踊ることができます」
“Hmm, no problem.
「ふーん 問題ない」
I can grant you that wish.
私はその願いをあなたに与えることができます。
So, the wolf started to play the pipe to celebrate his new meal.
それで、オオカミは新しい食事を祝うために笛を演奏し始めました。
Soon after he started to play, they could hear barking sounds from dogs.
彼が弾き始めた直後に、犬の鳴き声を聞くことができた。
“Bad, but wolf!
「わるいわるいおおかみ！
You better keep your paws off of the kid.”
子羊から足を離して守った方がいいぞ」
The kid’s protector heard the sound of the pipe and rushed over immediately.
子羊の擁護者は笛の音を聞いて、直ちに急行しました。
The wolf suddenly saw the dog approaching.
オオカミは突然犬が近づいてくるのを見た。
He threw the pipe and ran for his life.
彼は笛を投げ、彼の命のために走った。
“Instead of playing the pipe, I should have eaten the kid right away. What was I thinking?”
「笛を演奏するのではなく、すぐに子供を食べていたはずです。私は何を考えていたんだ？」
