英語絵本の読み聞かせ、今日はちょっと変わった言葉遊びのようなストーリー絵本です。マザーグースの歌が元になっているようで、米英の子供たちには、このフレーズ”There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Shell”はお馴染みかもしれません。
軽快なリズムで繰り返えされる表現が耳に残り、聴いるだけでも楽しくなります。
海岸で貝を飲み込むおばあさん。どうして貝を飲み込んだのかはわかりません。今度はその貝に住まわせるカニを飲み込ます。と、こんな感じで繰り返されます。なんだか食物連鎖のような展開ですが、最後にちゃんとオチがありました。
