英語絵本「Sleepyheads」の読み聞かせ、おやすみ前のベットタイムストーリーにぴったりなお話です。
Sleepyheadsは眠い頭ですから、おねむさんや眠たがり、 寝ぼうなどの意味。夜になると、森や林、家の中ではあちこちに小さなおねむさんを見つけることができます。
巣の中で寄り添うように（cuddle）寝るもの。
葦の中ですり寄って（snuggled）寝るもの。
巣穴の中（burrowed）にもぐりこんで寝るもの。
ぴったりと丸まって（curled tight）寝るもの。
葦の中（in reeds）や波の上（on waves）を漂いながら寝るもの。
いろいろな動物たちの寝姿を見ていたらきっといつのまにか眠りにつけそうですね。

月が見える？寝る時間です。
Let’s look for a little beds and find where all the little ones lay their sleepy heads.
小さなベットを探して、横になったみんなの小さなおねむさんを見てみましょう。
Look I see a sleepy head cuddle in a nest.
ごらん、巣の中で寄り添うように寝る眠たがりやさんが見えます。
I see another sleepy head who thinks a hole is best.
私は、穴が一番良いと思う別の眠そうな頭を見かけた。
Look! I see a sleepy head nestled in a cave.
ほら！眠たがりやさんが洞穴の中にいるのが見えます。
look! I see a sleepy head snuggled in the reeds.
見て！私は眠たがりやさんが葦の中ですり寄っているのが見えます。
I see another sleepyhead resting in the weeds.
雑草の中に休息している別の眠たがりやさんが見える。
Look! I see a sleepyhead burrowed in the hay.
私は干し草の穴の中に眠そうな頭が見える。
This one’s not a sleepyhead- this one slept all day!
これは眠そうではありません – この人は一日中眠っていました！

I see a blanket, soft and warm. But where’s the sleepy head?

We found all the little ones in trees, and holes, in caves.

We found all the sleepyheads in weeds, in reeds, on waves.

We found all but one small one in houses and in barns.
