英語絵本、今回のオリビアは『オリビア』、『オリビア サーカスをすくう』に続くシリーズ3作目となる「Olivia and the Missing Toy」の読み聞かせ動画です。
日本語タイトルは「オリビア…ときえたにんぎょう」
日本版絵本の表紙は少々ホラーチックになっていますが、今回もおしゃまなオリビアのドタバタなお話です。
冒頭、オリビアはらくだに乗ってエジプトを旅しています。脇にはおきにいりのお人形を抱えて..ママの声で夢から醒めるオリビア。今回はこのお気に入りのお人形がなくなってしまうお話です。
One day Olivia was riding a camel in Egypt.
ある日、オリヴィアはエジプトでラクダに乗っていました。
when her mother woke her up.
彼女の母が彼女を起こした時
“Time to get up sweetie pie.
Remember you have soccer this morning.”
「起きる時間よスウィーティパイ
あなたが今朝サッカーをするのを思い出してください」
Olivia’s uniform comes in a really unattractive green.
オリヴィアのユニフォームは、本当に魅力のない緑です。
“Mommy, can you make me a red soccer shirt like this one? please?..”
「ママ、こんな感じの赤いサッカーシャツを私に作れる？ お願い」
“But then you look different from everyone else on the team.”
explain her mother.
「だけど、あなたはチーム上で他の皆と異なるように見えます。」彼女の母は説明します。
“That’s the point.”
「それは問題だ」
When Olivia came home from practice. her mother was working on the shirt.
オリビアが練習から家に帰ってきた時
お母さんはシャツに取り組んでいました。
“Is it done yet?” she asked.
「それは、もうおわり？」と、彼女は尋ねました。
“Not yet.” said her mother.
「まだよ」とお母さん。
Olivia waited.
and waited
and waited
till she was too exhausted to wait any longer.
オリビアは待って、待って、待って
彼女はもはや待つにはあまりに疲れきるまで。
So she went out to play with the cat.
それで、彼女は猫と遊びに行きました。
“Look darling it’s all done.” said her mother.
見てダーリン、それは全て終わったわ」と彼女のお母さん。
but something was missing.
しかし、何かなくなっていました。
“Wait a second.” said Olivia.
「ちょっと待って」とオリビア。
“Where’s my toy?
『私のおもちゃはどこ？
Where’s my toy? It was right there on the bed. I just put it there. I remember exactly.
私のおもちゃはどこ？それは確かにベッドの上に有りました。私がちょう度そこにおいた。確かに覚えています。
That’s my best toy. I need it now!
それは、私の最高のおもちゃです。 私は、現在それを必要とします！
Somebody took my best toy!”
誰かは、私の最高のおもちゃをとりました！」
Olivia looked everywhere..
オリビアはいたるところを見ました。

敷物の下
under the sofa
ソファーの下
under the cat
ねこの下
she asked her little brother Ian.
“What did you do with my toy?”
彼女は下の弟イアンに尋ねました。
「私のおもちゃをどうしたの？」
She asked her baby brother, William.
What did you do with my toy?
彼女は赤ちゃんのウィリアムに尋ねました。
「私のおもちゃをどうしたの？」
woo shee gaga.
ううーしーーがが。
That night, and it was a dark and stormy night.
その夜、そして暗黒で嵐の夜でした。
Olivia was practicing her piano when she heard an awful sound.
彼女がひどい音を聞いたとき、オリヴィアは彼女のピアノを練習していました。
The sound got louder and louder.
その音は、より大きくなりました。
It was horrible,and it was coming from behind the door.
それは恐ろしかったです、そしてそれはドアの後ろから来ていました。
And that’s when she saw it.
It was..

The dog
And he chewed toy to bits.
犬でした。そして、噛まれたおもちゃの破片。
“Mommy daddy Mommy Daddy it was Perry!” cried Olivia.
「ママ、パパ、それはペリーでした！」泣きながらオリビア。
“He took my best toy and chewed it to bits, and now it’s wrecked.”
「彼が私の一番のおもちゃを取ってバラバラにそれをかみました。そして破壊された。」
“I’m sorry sweetie pie.” said her mother. “But doggy is like to chew. and he didn’t know it was your toy.”
“My best toy.”
「それは残念ねスウィーティパイ」と母。「でもわんちゃんは噛むのが好き、そしてかれはそれがあなたのおもちゃと知らなかったの。」
“Don’t worry.” said Olivia’s father.
「心配しないで」とオリビアの父。
“Tomorrow we’ll go get you the very best toy in the whole world.”
「明日私たちはあなたのために全世界でいちばん最高のおもちゃを得に行きます。」
”Oh thank you daddy I love you more than anyone.”
「ああ、ありがとうパパ、誰よりもあなたを愛しています。」
Still it was Olivia’s best toy. so she fixed it.
しかし、それはオリビアの最高のおもちゃでした。それで、彼女はそれを作りつけた。

特別な美しさのために腰をかがめた
all better.
もうだいじょうぶ。
“Only books about cats tonight. mommy.”
「今夜は猫についての本だけ、ママ」
But even Olivia couldn’t stay mad forever.
しかしいつまでも無分別なオリビアでいることは出来ませんでした。
